Fishing the San Juan River

 San Juan River Fishing

The Enchanted Hideaway is located in the center of a World Class Trout Fishing haven along the San Juan River, only two minutes from six miles of public water and five minutes from the world famous Quality Waters of the San Juan River.

 San Juan River

Quality Waters: The World-Famous Quality Waters of the San Juan River are open to the public but require special permits and are catch-and-release only. On a guided trip from a local guide, you are almost guranteed to catch a 17 inch trout or better. If you decide to wade or float on your own, chances are good you will hook up to a good fish. If you are a fly fisher and really want to learn how to catch more fish on these waters, then consider booking a guided fly fishing trip with  Resolution Guide Service.

Public Waters: Don't think that the trout disappear once you leave the Quality Waters of the San Juan. Some think that the fun only begins here, where there are no rod fees on the river and you can keep what you catch within New Mexico's daily limits and fish regulations for size. Access to the river may take a bit of work to find a good spot, but fishing the public waters can be extremely rewarding if you find the right location and flies the fish are hitting on!

Private Waters: When fishing the private waters, it really helps to have a guide because much of the San Juan River flows through private lands. Resolution Guide Service works with land owners to secure secluded fishing holes along the private waters of the San Juan that very few anglers ever get to fish! This means you get access to areas of the coveted San Juan River than few human beings ever see, and even better, the trout don't see many humans. Floating the private waters of the San Juan offers a unique opportunity to catch trout on the fly in their natural habitat.
